Class of 1965 45th Class Reunion |

Life seems to be moving like a tractor going downhill. Can it be 5 years
already since my grandson was born and I had to miss the last reunion?
It's that time again when we start thinking of how to make our "golden
years" memorable by seeing and reminiscing with our "old" classmates.
That is more than just a saying these days. Being above ground and
vertical is the only requirement for the get together! Gather your
memories, pictures and be prepared for a great time visiting with all
your classmates in the class of 65! Most of us are approaching or have already begun retirement and maybe already into that second job. Others are still dreaming of the day they can retire from the first one! The committee has decided that we need to plan a fun and relaxing weekend with plenty of visiting time. We will do our best to make that happen. Our Friday night get-together wiII be held at Broney's on-court Street. It has a nice atmosphere and will allow people to come and go and you can stay as long as they like. We will have other suggestions later for Saturday activities. Stay tuned or give us some ideas you have. We love suggestions! On Saturday our dinner will located at The Athens Country Club. We are planning a very casual evening that will include a barbeque style dinner and perhaps a DJ that is local. It would be fun if everyone would bring a funny story about a class or teacher or experience that we could share for the pre-dinner time. Pictures will be taken before the dinner. The cost for the dinner and entertainment will be $40.00 per person. We are not planning extravagant favors in order to keep our costs reasonable but understand that all costs have increased in the past 5 years. (Note: this amount is $10.00 less than the last reunion.) The quality of food at the Country Club has always been excellent and I feel everyone will be happy with this venue. Accommodations for the weekend can be made at the following places:
Make your reservations ASAP so you will be sure to get the accommodations that you want. The rooms will be held until July 15th. After that there is no guarantee that you will have a room. Our hope is that we will see as many of our classmates as possible in 2010. Life is short and making memories and reliving memories is the icing on the cake of life! Your reunion committee!
